Lion's Mane Mushroom

WTF is Lion's Mane?

Lion's mane mushroom

Lions mane is known as a functional or medicinal mushroom and while it may be new to you, the benefits of Lion's Mane mushroom gave been utilized by cultures all over the world for over 5,000 years. A prominent figure in Ayurvedic & Chinese medicine, Lion’s Mane is known to:

  • sharpen focus
  • enhance mental clarity
  • uplift mood
  • spark creativity

And no, it doesn't come from the mane of a lion! As you can see from the alien-like photo above, these little suckers grow like sea anemone (every time I say that word, I think about that adorable scene in Finding Nemo, and I hope you do too!) on damp logs in wooded areas. They are called Lion's Mane because they resemble the look of, well, a lion's mane. Simple enough.

The benefits of Lion's Mane mushroom are endless. It is revered for enhancing mental focus and nourishing the nervous system, and we swear by it. Team send adds lion's mane to their morning coffees, matcha's or elixirs everyday and it makes us feel like our most productive, efficient, in the zone selves. Lion’s mane itself deserves a shoutout for helping us launch Send Bars ;)

We added this powerful mushroom to our Perform Bars so that it can help you get into the groove at work, or help give you a brain boost before your next adventure. Activities like rock climbing, skiing, hiking, surfing, training and more take a significant amount of focus, concentration and brain power that is often overlooked (but not by us).
